Autism test results: A good lead.

We finally got test results from Shane's labs in Macon Ga, way back when he had them done in August. It was very interesting. We are glad we have answers and have been doing a lot of research!
-Apparently, Shane has a gene mutation in the M T H F R gene (There are 2 copies, one from me and one from Jennah, and one is working normally (100%), and one is malfunctioning (40% functional) and not processing vitamin B 12 properly... so it was either Me or Jennah that gave this to him. Heavy vaccines and environmental pollutants/chemicals are the triggers that intensify this problem. This condition causes him to have a low detox system, messes up neurotransmitters in his brain, and affects ATP. Any heavy vaccines and toxins have a hard time leaving his body. The doctor also said that whichever one of us passed this on didn't have a hard time due to the lower number of vaccines (12 vs. 32) administered back when we were young.
- He also had Klebsiella present in his gut, which is a bad bacteria. Klebsiella infections tend to occur in people with a weakened immune system. Many of these infections are obtained when a person is in the hospital for some other reason. The most common infection caused by Klebsiella bacteria outside the hospital is pneumonia. It's apparently treatable with antibiotics (to kill the bad bacteria) and probiotics (to restore the good bacteria).
- Due to the immune system problems, the doctor strongly suggested feeding Shane an organic diet the rest of his life (or at least a diet with no artificial preservatives, colors, etc) to give him a head start at releasing toxins.
I have been doing lots of research so I will update more when we learn more. For now, they want to have Shane start injections of Methyl-B12, which is a specialized processed B12 that will boost his neuro and immune system and get them working normally--it will increase his activity and (hopefully) help with his sleep problems as well!
-This is particularly exciting to know regarding Shane's B12 processing problem since Austism studies with Methyl-B12 have shown an increase in executive function, speech, language, socialization, and emotion...if methyl-B12 is given in the right dosage, timing, and form, up to 94% of children will show benefit according to the studies.
-Shane tested in the green (good) for lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic.
-Shane has normal kidney and thyroid function and blood properties.
-After getting vaccines, a person is typically immune to that disease (take mumps for example) on a scale of 0.8-1.0 (low), 1.0-1.1 (medium) 1.1 and over (high). Shane is normal in all except for Rubella, where he scored a 500! That means he's hyper immune and can't have any more shots of that or he'll develop allergies and autoimmune problems.
At least there is more hope now that we might be cornering the source of Shane's problem--these tests have opened some doors--maybe know instead of wild guesses we can start using effective treatments for Shane.
